"Biggest is Bestest" - Megaboss

The biggest - and therefore the best - of the Ironjawz, the orruk Megabosses lead the Ironjaw warclans with a ramshackle unity, smashing and stomping and breaking and battering everything in reach. Game-Workshop Website Hey all, thanks for all the birthday wishes on The Art of Caesura! My fiance has actually taken me away this week for my birthday (it's a big one!) so I prepped this a bit in advance. When this comes out it will actually be the day of my birthday Woo hoo! I know I've been stretching this model over a few weeks now, but he really was a mighty undertaking. First I talked about building the Maw-krusha , then I showed you the painted beast , now comes his rider! The other reason that I wanted to give this one the time he deserves is because I was waiting on some magnets to arrive so that I could try my hand at magnetizing all his weapons. I'd never magnitized anything before, but it turned out to be dead easy! I got the small

"Golden Templar" - Knight-Questor

"Forged by the god-king Sigmar into living weapons against the power of Chaos, some of these soldiers of the heavens are notable even amongst their shining brethren for their heroic deeds -  these champions become known as a Knight-Questor." Games Workshop Website Greetings all and sundry and welcome back to The Art of Caesura! It's been over a month since we last looked at Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower. I'd like to return there today.  So, you may recall the first proper Age of Sigmar dude I painted a few weeks ago: The Liberator . At the time I talked about how I enjoyed painting him in more bronze tones than gold, with a heavy dose of weathering.  This week we're looking at his cousin (and the first Hero from Silver Tower that I've painted): The Knight-Questor. I tried to paint his armor in the same fashion as the Liberator and used the same blue-green for the shoulder pads and cloak, but tried to use softer highlights on the

"Big Red" - Maw-Krusha

Tiny-minded and short-sited, the thuggish Maw-krushas barrel across the landscape pulverising anything in their way, be it trees, settlements or screaming people. Age of Sigmar Wiki Hey guys, welcome back to The Art of Caesura! The mood was already somber, what with recent events in America and it being Remembrance Day in Canada. Then I read that Leonard Cohen had died. We've always listened to Leonard. My mum had his "Essentials" album in the car throughout my adolescence and I had been swept up by his mellifluous baritone, but more so by the truth in his lyrics and poetry. I had the privileged of seeing him in Belfast a good few years ago and remember the sense of humility that shone through his performance. Years later I stood outside his home in Montreal and had one of those liminal experiences where you wonder at how greatness can come from such a relatively normal looking environment.  Rest in peace Leonard Cohen.  Thank you for spending a mome

Conan, What is Best in Life?

To crush your enemies To see them driven before you and to hear the lamentation of their women. Robert E. Howard It's that time again...The Art of Caesura! Long-time Caesurian's (and even short term) readers might either welcome the variety of miniatures that I paint, or lament my fickleness - flitting from a few weeks of The World of Smog, to Malifaux, to Silver Tower...but, well...tough. I've mentioned before that the big armies I painted were Black Templars and then Orcs and Goblins. After painting hundreds of Night Goblins, I do not miss batch painting, and on the contrary, I love the diversity of just painting whatever I want these days! So this week I have something completely new again for you! I was totally planning to show off my Maw-Krusha in all his painted glory, but then something arrived in the mail: CONAN!!! About two years ago I backed a Kickstarter for a concept that absolutely blew my mind. A miniature board game of Conan the Barbari
