"Crikey! She's a big 'un!" - Maw Krusha

Come not between the  Dragon and his wrath King Lear - William Shakespeare Hi all, welcome back to another Friday on The Art of Caesura! This week's mini isn't so mini at all! For the past few weeks I've been working on the new Maw-Krusha model. It's the first dragon-like thing I've painted and the first of the new Age of Sigmar orc stuff that I've bought.  I do not own this image To really give this model the credit it's due I'm going to spread it over a couple weeks on here. Today I want to talk a little about the building. Strangely when I bought this guy, one of the large pieces (the left side of his back) was a bit warped. I've never seen this happen with Games Workshop plastics before (especially not their newer kits).  To be honest, I didn't really mind, it wasn't a huge deal and I figured it would be easy enough to fix. Rather than try to warp it back into shape, I just cut the piece in half to re-align them be

"Hope, the Seed of Liberation" - Liberator

Magically reforged with the thunderous power of a god,  immortal, proud and strong, the Liberators are the hammer of Sigmar  in human form,  hurled down from the skies  with the blistering force necessary to shatter the rule of Chaos. Games Workshop G'morning, and welcome to The Art of Caesura! While listening to my Redeemer Ale bubble and ferment away, I've been busily painting away all week.  Whenever I go to a new place I like to check out their Games Workshop. I live 2 and a half hours away from the nearest GW (and about 2 hours from the nearest FLGS) so it's a bit of a novelty for me. My fiance and I were in Amsterdam just over a week ago and while she was culturally taking in the Anne Frank House, I was culturally taking in the nearby Games Workshop (before you roast me - I'd been to the Frank house before, and found it a bit too moving to return to).  Anyway I had some great chats with Steven at that shop and ended up dropping a cou

The Great Redeemer

Next time somebody has the pip with you, pour them a Great Redeemer. One taste of its rich fruit cake flavours and dry hops and all will be forgiven. Mangrove Jacks Welcome back, dear friends, to The Art of Caesura! It feels like I've been gone for ages! My fiance and I took a nice holiday to Amsterdam and then up to Northern Ireland over the past week, before I started a new job on Monday. So it has been a busy but fun week.  This is another beer-filled episode as I will regale you with my latest brewing efforts.  Longtime readers will be familiar with my endeavor to brew each of the Mangrove Jack's craft series beers. This is now my fourth one. It is called "The Great Redeemer Old Ale", and according to its particulars it's a mahogany ale with an ABV of approx 5.5% and an IBU of 26-32.  I'm excited to give this one a go after my last one didn't turn out as great as I had hoped  .  I made one major change this

Smog is Descending Again

While Queen Victoria prepares to seal an alliance with Oberon of Faerie, some precious artifacts were stolen. Will you be wise enough to resolve the matter with discretion and diligence? The World of Smog Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen, I hope this entry finds you well. this week I want to talk about an exciting bit of Victorian-Horror-Steampunk news I saw this week... Some of you, dear readers, have been here since the beginning and if you cast your minds way back, you might remember that the first few miniatures that I posted on here were from a great board game that had recently come out called The World of Smog: On Her Majesty's Service. It's a really fun, strategic, steampunky romp through the Shadow Market in Victorian London. The Gentleman must collect four mystical ingredients (ectoplasm, blood, titanium and mana) as well as four valuable artifacts from the shadow market before escaping through their secret
