Warhammer Underworlds: My First Deck

Should a scholar of High Azyr  or war leader of the Stormcast Eternals  make mention of Beastgrave,  it is typically the mountain alone to which they refer... - Games Workshop Hello hello one and all! Welcome back to The Art of Caesura, my happy blog of life and hobbies in the south west of Ireland. I felt the need to re-frame it there because in recent weeks, I have totally fallen down the Zombicide: Green Horde rabbit hole (or Abominabunny hole). It is hard to believe that 10 out of the past 11 weeks have been devoted to this great game.  I actually do still have a few more Zombicide: Green Horde minis that I'm currently working on, but I'll save those. I do think it's time to move on from the Green Horde for a little while. This is a bit of a different post. Long-time readers will know me mainly as a painter and hobbiest and not really a tabletop gamer (though not for lack of desire). But this post (which I originally wrote back in March!) is something a bit

"Oh Brother!" - Horde Brother

Abominations are bad enough  as mindless rampaging nightmares.  But to come across one that actually  attempts to instill some sense of tactics  in its brethren, now that’s a pain in the neck! ~ Zombicide Hello, hello! It's that time again, time for The Art of Caesura! Last week we looked at a very unconventional abomination - the zombie-unicorn Chromatiz . This week we have we have a more traditional looking mutant zombie orc: The Horde Brother.  In the game, this guy is brutal. When he turns up another abomination joins The Horde, meaning that another hulking abomination has a better chance of entering the board - and with a horde of zombie-orcs to boot! Deadly! As I had mentioned on my post about the Orc Necromancer , I didn't fancy blending greens for all of the orcs in the box, so this is the first model for which I used some of my new greens.  Seeing that this guy has a lot of skin on him, I was looking for ways to mix up the

"Rainbows and Gore" - Chromatiz

The fabled Chromatic Unicorns  from the elven realms were always  rather curious creatures... But now, with the black plague sweeping the world,  it seems at least one of these noble beasts  has developed an intense curiosity  concerning the taste of living flesh! - Zombicide Hello one and all and welcome back to your weekly dose of The Art of Caesura! Today we have a fun and crazy model from Zombicide: Green Horde, along the lines of  the terrifying zombie-rabbit ( The Abominabunny ) that we've previously seen, today we have a zombie-unicorn: the Chromatiz.  I love the unheimlich juxtaposition of the mystical unicorn with rainbow mane, and hauntingly macabre exposed flesh and bones.  Painting this model was quite straight forward. From a Grey Seer undercoat, I painted all of the (intact) skin Apothecary White and all of the exposed bones with Skeleton Horde.  Then I painted all of the exposed muscle with Fleshtearer's Re
