Towers of Silver and Land of Gold

Beauty is a fading flower, Truth is but a wizard's tower Where a solemn deth-bell tolls, And a forest round it rolls. Epilogue from "The Flower of Old Japan" Alfred Noyes Welcome back one and all to another week of The Art of Caesura! I hope you all had great weeks! Mine was excellent, especially Tuesday when everything arrived at once... Last week I was getting pretty excited about Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower and Total War: Warhammer and now their both here. Many people have been doing unboxings and early access game-play previews for Silver Tower. Some photos of assembled and painted minis are already making the rounds. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury at the moment of having much free time, but I do hope to clean and assemble a good bunch of minis this weekend in hopes that I'll have a test mini (Maybe a fun little Brimstone Horror) ready for you next week.  I'm already starting to think about how I'll base these bad

Hammer Time!

Throughout the mortal realms the legends of the Silver Tower are recounted with awe and admiration. Tales of disparate champions good and evil, brought together by naught more than fate, battling against sanity-shredding horrors in the ever-shifting domain of the Gaunt Summoner of Tzeentch. ~ Games Workshop Website Hey all, welcome to another week of The Art of Caesura! How has your week been? Mine’s been a bit hectic, but I kind of managed to enter one of those zen states and got ‘er all done! A surprising week in terms of Art of Caesura content…with a view to retaining my street cred, I’m surprised to admit that I’m getting really excited by Games Workshop products (and licenses) this week. I was totally sold when I saw Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower . Not only are the minis looking great, but the old game sounded super fun. I’ve been really enjoying Ash’s homemade version, Realm Quest for the past few months. And so was delighted to see that this was coming

The Night Watchman

It's one of the tragic ironies of the theatre that only one man in it can count on steady work  - the night watchman. - Tallulah Bankhead Welcome back for another week of The Art of Caesura! So, rest assured, I’m actually here this time. I am happy though that the autonomous posting of last week’s entry actually happened. Iceland was awesome, I’ll have to tell you about it sometime. Those “long-term” Caesurians amongst you will remember the glory of Sabre back in February (and the celebrated tasting just a few weeks back). The dark English-bitter Ale that I brewed in my bathroom. I was really happy with how it turned out and impressed that it lasted me 3 months (to the day!) Unfortunately, I wasn’t quite organized enough to have started another brew before finishing the first one…but I have started it now… I’m brewing a porter this time. I love dark beers, and among my favourites are: Phillips’ Longboat Chocolate Porter and Galway Bay Brewer

"Concentrated Deformation" - Abomination (Headley)

…explorers report strange sightings,  carrying tales of rotting mechanical creatures. These abominations are made from leftover parts that leave nightmares in the minds of all who see them Malifaux 2E: Crossroads Join me for another glimpse into The Art of Caesura! Now, this is a new one for me. I’m not actually here right now…I’m in Iceland! I figured out how to write this post in advance and schedule it to be released on Friday. Sorry for the sneaker. I really want to challenge myself to keep this blog every single week for my own satisfaction, and so that you can rely on this regular Friday afternoon diversion. Today is a continuation of last week’s post. This one is another Abomination from Leviticus’ “Salvage and Logistics” crew. Headley is his name. Compared to ol’ Sawhawk last week, assembling Headley was a bit trickier. When I clipped one of the pieces (a wire that attaches to his undercarriage) it was so small that it instantly flew away, neve
