This week's offering is one that I have actually been working on over the past two weeks, but rather than show you a work in progress shot last week, I decided to just lay 'em all on you at once this week. Unleash the Kairic Acolytes! This is going to be a photo-intensive post this week because each of these models is actually quite an individual. The detailed musculature on these models is some of the best I've seen, and I really think the matte finish of the Scale 75 Flesh paints did the skin tones justice.  Please click on the images to see them in all their High-def glory!   I kept the skin fairly pale, avoiding ruddy skin tones that might hint at a bit too much cheery vitality!   I'm also still getting used to the new (for me)...

Alas, poor Yorick... Hamlet - Shakespeare Welcome back to another Friday on The Art of Caesura! Here we are with Pug, the third set of the Gaunt Summoner's familiars from Silver Tower (after Blot and Slop ). He's got the classic "Moonhead of Tzeench," a look that, while nostalgic for some, I've never been a huge fan of.  I do, however, like how he has been modernized by holding a Stormcast Eternal helm (head?) in a very "Hamlet gravedigger pose." The Shakespearean connection goes further, because Yorick was the court jester.  When I started painting this guy I had just bought one of the new "gem paints" (Soulstone Blue) and wanted to see how they fared in applications for which they were not intended. I wanted to paint this guy's moonhead in a style sympathetic to his bizarre form - that is a style that was equally bizarre. For the rest of you, you'll likely know all about the model (or models) I got painted this week. In the game, the Skaven Deathrunner is like a mini-boss. He has a million wounds and can make an illusory version of himself to really push your poop in.  Usually I like to paint multiples of the same model differently, but because these models were supposed to be identical illusion of each other, I tried to make them as similar as possible. Okay, one of the many things I loved about Silver Tower was the massive variety of models it came with. I mean, I never really thought I'd have an opportunity to paint a Skaven model, but here it is...b...
