300th Post!!!

Welcome one and all to the 300th post on The Art of Caesura!!! Yes indeed, three hundred consecutive weeks of (mostly) hobby-related action over the past five and a half years! It's kind of hard to imagine - by any metric (number of photos per post or number of words per post or number of hours put into each post, multiplied by 300 is quite a lot no matter which way you cut it).  As a tribute to the blog, we're going to celebrate by looking at one hundred photos spanning from now back to the 200th post . And, as an Easter egg for those regular readers, you'll find some images from the future, that haven't yet been posted on the blog. As always, you can click on each picture for a high resolution version.  So sit back, and enjoy these snapshots from the blog as we celebrate 300 posts! Wow! Time flies! It was wonderful to look back and revel again in some of my most beloved miniatures and also to recall some of the miniatures that, frankly, I had forgotten about! Thank yo...

"Large and in Charge" - Blood Bowl Ogre - Part II

Ogre teams have existed since  the forming of the NAF and have even had  some success such as winning the XV Blood Bowl.  However, as any right-minded person will tell you,  having more than one Ogre in the same place  at the same time is a disaster in the making... - Blood Bowl Tactics Welcome back sports fans to another gripping Blood Bowl post on The Art of Caesura! The Blood Bowl content has been coming hard and fast over the past few weeks. In addition to his face, I also went into the whole rest of the painting process of this guy so you can check that out  here . The painting process of the rest of my human team is right over  here , and their showcase is  here . Today we'll let the photos be the thousand words they are, but if you have any question...

"The Big Guy" - Blood Bowl Ogre - Part I

Able to smash, crash and bash  through even the toughest opponents,  Ogres provide Human teams with that  touch of utter brutality sometimes  missing from their rosters. - Games Workshop Welcome back sports fans to another Blood Bowl post on The Art of Caesura! This week we're adding a bit of muscle (read: giant slab of meat) to my Human Blood Bowl team in the form of an ogre! To get up to speed on my human team, here are the work-in-progress shots , and last week we looked at the completed team in all its glory. Having just completed this post, it evolved into rather a deep dive into painting faces; I hope you find it helpful let me know in the comments below! Now, on to this big bruiser!  I started him at the same time as the rest of the team and undercoated him, and fully painted his undersuit in this manner. Once I began the metal, however, I found that he was different enough to kind of mess up the conveyor belt I had going wi...
