"Pew pew" - Heavy Intercessors - Part 2

Always ready for any sign of enemy counter-attack,  [Heavy Intercessors] stand firm, laying down volleys  of heavy fire that keep all but the most determined  or foolhardy enemies at bay.  - Games Workshop Welcome back to The Art of Caesura! I hope all is well with you, I'm sending loads of positivity your way, especially if you need it today.  We're picking right up from where we left off last week with my Heavy Intercessors. Even though I only had to finish the bases on these guys this week, I only barely got them finished in time! That's because I'm painting loads of other stuff for the Warhammer League that I'm participating in! I had my first game last week...but we shall talk about that in a future post...next week perhaps.  So, as usual with these "Showcase" posts, we'll let the photos do the talking, and if you would like to dig into my thought processes behind these guys you can check out last week's post as well as this evergreen post ...

"Bring in the...Medium Guns" - Heavy Intercessors - Part 1

Clad in thick Gravis armour, Heavy Intercessors  secure ground and are immovable in defence. - Games Workshop Welcome back to another Friday on The Art of Caesura! At time of reading I will be playing my first league game of 40k in a few hours - wish me luck!! I have been swotting away at the rules of the game in my spare seconds over the past 2 weeks, and we'll see how much I remember for my game. I secretly suspect that Games Workshop originally intended for Gravis armour (and specifically Aggressors) to be the Primaris Version of Terminator armour - they have a lot of similar design cues: overhead cowling, Aggressors have powe...

"The Big Leagues" - Warhammer 40k Gaming League

Success is not a goal to reach  or a finish line to cross. It is a system to improve, and endless process to refine. - James Clear Welcome back to The Art of Caesura! Last week we took a look at some of the changes to Black Templars with the new Codex. This week we're going to put it all together for something exciting which is just beginning: my first league! The Guild Hall, our Friendly Local Gaming Store, is running its first Warhammer 40k Gaming League, and I've entered! Yes me - the consummate painter! I am probably mad; life is already crazy enough, I've only played 3 games in the past year, I don't really know the rules, I don't have a 2000 point army painted...but there's no time like the present (and other such platitudes). So, today I'm going to share TWO lists with you. The first list (aptly named "League Starting List") is exactly that. It is as close to the list that I would actually like to be running (which is the second list below)...
