Welcome everyone to The Art of Caesura! Today I have a bit of an odd post. From time to time the background workings of the blog come to the foreground and today is such a day.  Last week I mentioned that I have been contacted by multiple readers of the blog saying that for the past few weeks they have not been receiving the e-mail notifications of new weekly blog posts that they had subscribed to (and before that they were receiving e-mails only sporadically for posts for several months).  I have looked into this problem and was surprised that it was much more complicated than I was expecting. It turns out Blogger (owned by Google) used another company (FeedBurner) to manage many blog functions. For reasons that are unclear to me, FeedBurner "turned down" (i.e. began phasing out) some of their functions last year (including e-mail subscription "FollowByEmail", and many of my analytic functions), but they only stopped them altogether recently - hence you guys no lon...

I'm sorry that it was a little late this week, I was travelling internationally (more on that in a future post) and what with time changes and multi-stage travels I got my days all mixed up.  Another apology to those of you who subscribe to receive  e-mails notifying you of my weekly posts.
