A journey of a thousand miles
begins with a single step
Hi friends! Welcome to another Friday on The Art of Caesura!
We're going to mix things up today with a super special post today: the first miniature that I ever painted!!
In the real world, I'm on holiday back to my family home for a few weeks at the moment. In addition to going through all my old books, CDs, VHS, and magic cards, I've found a bunch of my old models.
This week we're going to cut right to the core with the first mini I ever painted.
About 20 years ago when I was about 12, I painted this guy in a Games Workshop.
I still remember industriously painting the carapace blue and fleshy bits purple.
Gotta love the bright green, flocked bases that were all the rage back then.
Even then I delighted in the little details like the eyes and tongue. I didn't have gloss varnish back then...
I would love to grab a new genestealer and paint it to my current standard for a comparison...I'll have to look into that...Anyway see you next week on The Art of Caesura!
Watching: Hereditary
Reading: A Gentleman in Moscow - Amor Towles
Next Week:
Some more of the old guard!
