500th Post!!!!!

Wow wow WOW!! FIVE HUNDRED POSTS!!!  How incredible! For those of you just joining us - Welcome to The Art of Caesura! And for the rest of you, welcome back! And for all of us: newbies, oldies and my future self, I'm sending loads of positivity your way - especially if you need it today! It's fun that the 500th post falls within six months of the blog's 10th anniversary (which is when we'll have the proper nostalgic celebrations) but today we shall celebrate as we celebrate each and every centennial on the blog, by looking back at 100 photos since the 400th post . Life Update - July 2025

You are the only one who can enjoy your life. Howdy, howdy, howdy! Welcome back to The Art of Caesura! It's been quite a while since I've done one of these life updates! Life is just zooming by at such a break-neck speed, it's important to stop and smell the roses every once in a while! And, a special note, it's the blog's 500th post next week, so be sure to pop back for that one! She was awarded the medal for "Hardest Worker" so we're all very proud! Freya (age 3 - almost 4!) moved to a new creche (preschool) this year and immediately got stuck right in. Just yesterday, we were discussing the origin of her name and she asked me "Is I a god, daddy?" Isla (17 months) has really started to develop her own big personality. She charges 'round the house after her big sis...

"No Moral Compass" - Zombie Iron Man - Part 2

“I take back 50% of all the bad things I ever said about you.” Iron Man #308 Hello one and all and welcome back to The Art of Caesura!  I have been really enjoying sharing these superheroes (and zombie heroes) with you over the past few weeks. It has also been fun for me to return to them because I actually painted them half a year ago! It really makes me want to paint more of these fun models.  I'm delighted with how Zombie Iron Man turned out! Since last week, I toned down the glow on his chest and hand a bit and yet increased its contrast. I accomplished this by paining Agrax Earthshade mixed with Carroburg Crimson on the armour plating around where the object source lighting (OSL or "glow" effect) got a little out of hand. I then worked the centres of each glowy area up to white.  It's fun when there is a contrast of surface textures or materials as well, and this model has this in his lustrous armour vs his matte skin and clothes.  The only other thing I did sin...
