League Game #2 - vs. Astra Militarum

Welcome back to another Friday on The Art of Caesura! Autumn has arrived, my favourite time of year. The mornings are crisp and bright and the days haven't yet shortened to their winter stature.  With the arrival of autumn, comes my second game in our Warhammer league! You can check out last week's game in the previous post . With our ability to change one thing in our list after each game, the only change that I made after game one was to turf one of the Crusader Squads in favour of a Scout Squad and a squad of Assault Intercessors. This would give me more utility to have multiple units to complete objectives / actions etc. My next change would be to get more ranged anti-tank fire-power which, as you will see, would have been useful in today's game.  My second league game (and second ever 2000 point game) was against Robin, a consummate tournament player who has literally hundreds of games of 10th edition under his belt. In my eyes, Robin is the one to beat in this league ...

League Game #1 - vs. T'au

This is not the paradise promised.  But you will conquer it.  - Dawn of War II Hello and welcome back to The Art of Caesura! I'm sending lots of positivity to you, especially if you need it today.  Today is a special post on the blog, we're going to look at my first league game (which was also my first 2000 point game)! For some of the details on this league, as well as the list that I'm running and my thoughts behind it,  check out this post .  So, my first league game was against T'au, Retaliation Cadre. I have only played against T'au once , but this was an extremely different list and playstyle. I was excited to hear that Retaliation Cadre focuses on Battle Suits and mid-range firepower (I felt my templars would have more of a chance of getting into them than if they were more focused on long range firepower. My opponent, Rogan, also has an Imperial Fists army (from which Black Templars are a successor chapter), so he knew his Space Marines. For those intere...

"Pew pew" - Heavy Intercessors - Part 2

Always ready for any sign of enemy counter-attack,  [Heavy Intercessors] stand firm, laying down volleys  of heavy fire that keep all but the most determined  or foolhardy enemies at bay.  - Games Workshop Welcome back to The Art of Caesura! I hope all is well with you, I'm sending loads of positivity your way, especially if you need it today.  We're picking right up from where we left off last week with my Heavy Intercessors. Even though I only had to finish the bases on these guys this week, I only barely got them finished in time! That's because I'm painting loads of other stuff for the Warhammer League that I'm participating in! I had my first game last week...but we shall talk about that in a future post...next week perhaps.  So, as usual with these "Showcase" posts, we'll let the photos do the talking, and if you would like to dig into my thought processes behind these guys you can check out last week's post as well as this evergreen post ...
