Don't leave home without your sword - your intellect.
- Alan Moore
Welcome to Friday on The Art of Caesura!
Long time Caesurians will know that I'm quite an Alan Moore fan. I've read most of his comics (including his early stuff with Marvel and DC upto his recent "Providence") but have yet to tackle his genetic mythology "Jerusalem".
I think Alan Moore would like much of the world of The World of Smog. The adventures of the Gentlemen in The World of Smog, are not unlike those of Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Also, the occult themes and eerie sense of foreboding of something monstrous lying just below the surface of society is a theme that is present in Rise of Moloch and most of Moore's works.
So I wonder if he knows that he has a model made of him in this game.
How do we know it's him? Well aside from looking like him, the backwards name thing kind of gives it away!
Knowing that this is Alan Moore I put him in more Moorish colours (a purple, rather than red suit). As chance would have it, the last time we were discussing Alan Moore was in relation to another World of Smog mini: The Comedian, who also had a purple suit! I used these two pictures as reference for his suit:
And I used this next picture as reference for his beard and hair.
I'm pretty happy with how Eroom Nala's hair turned out: browny with grey roots. I even tried to paint his beard light grey with a brownish moustache.
I'll let the pictures do the talking from here...
A little detail that I want to point out is the amulet around his neck; it's actually the badge of The Unicorn Club. You'll notice it cropping up again as I work my way through "the good guys" in this game. I'm painting them gold on each model to unify the members of The Unicorn Club.
Above is a good shot of his grey-streaked hair, and below you can get a look at his moody, intense face.
Excited About: Going to Flight of the Conchords tomorrow in Dublin!
