"Old School Skellies" - Conan Skeleton Warriors

Death is nothing to us,
since when we are,
death has not come,
and when death has come,
we are not.

G'day and welcome your Friday fill of The Art of Caesura!

Firstly, a thanks to those who messaged me with words of support following last week's post. It's always nice to hear from you guys!

Today marks the launch of the next few weeks' content: Conan the Barbarian! Or more specifically more minis from the Conan board game by Monolith Games.
Conan the Barbarian

Around Christmas-time I was painting these guys like mad! First with the skeletons, then the tentacles, then (to mark the blog's one year birthday) the mighty Kraken (technically the demon, Thaug). Well now we're back to the skellies (sword and board this time) and again they invoked:

Jason and the Argonaughts

I batch painted them much like before but this time I added an extra lick of highlight (and then proceeded to go back and do the same to the old ones so that they wouldn't feel left out). Models like these are quick and fun and look great as a shambling hoard.

Check out the spiffy new logo - not too obtrusive I hope.

As I said, I pushed the highlights a little further than usual on these guys (you can see the highlights on the cloak below for example) and I think it really worked.

Here's a group shot of the axe skellies from a few months ago with their sword-bearing brethren:
