"Ride of the Valkyries" - Skyriggers - Part II

The duardin have developed new technology 
and weapons of war, and now they sail the skies
in their amazing airships, seeking wealth and plunder.


Great to see you back on The Art of Caesura!

And now, the moment we've all been waiting for(...well, I've been waiting for it anyway!): the unveiling of my Skyfarers!  I've been working away on these guys for the past few weeks and am really thrilled with how they turned out, so can't wait to share them with you!


Two weeks ago, though it may not have been obvious at the time, I showed you how I made the bases of these guys. Last week we looked at painting and magnetization, and today we just get to gaze at the finished product!


As I mentioned before, I magnetized the heads of all these guys so that they could be Endrinriggers or Skywardens. I also magnetized the arms of the "Sergeant" so that he too could be either...or both!


I built this first guy with the grapnel-launcher because it looked nice and nautical - in keeping with the aesthetic of my army. 





Here you can see him in his Skywarden guise. 



Next up is the duardin with the aethermatic volleygun. I've always loved the look of Gatling guns, so had to include this option. 






And here he is with his Skywarden head. 


Last, and certainly not least is the Mizzenmaster / Custodian.


I gave him the coolest tentacle, which really looks like it's trying to ensnare him and pull him under. But I think it also looks like he's just slid through its grasp!


The cool thing about having magnetized his arms is that I can change his pose, really altering his silhouette. He can have his sky-pike pointing down as if he using an extra burst of speed, or he can have his sky-pike up in a "Superman pose"





I do think he looks quite different with the Mizzenmaster head and arms - so it was all worth the effort!






Below, I took a picture of him as a regular Endrinrigger, but I somehow forgot to take a picture of him as a regular Skywarden. Drat!



Here you can see a bunch of the options for the leader dude, minus the two "regular" heads I painted for him in case I just want to have 3 "regular" guys. 


And there we have them! My first three Endrinriggers / Skywardens. They are really great models, but did take a good bit of time and effort to complete. Worth it!
