Welcome to another celebratory post on The Art of Caesura!
Last week the champagne was flowing for the 300th post of The Art of Caesura! This week the confetti is flying for the 2nd birthday of my eldest daughter, Saoirse.
A few weeks ago (on August 20th) I mentioned that it was my daughter's second birthday, but that we had to postpone the party because she was a bit under the weather. Well, we finally got the gang together to celebrate in style! My parents are visiting from Canada, and my in-laws came down from both sides of the country for a rare meeting of the tribes!
One of Saoirse's favourite things in the world is "The Wheels on the Bus" so, armed only with an osmotic knowledge from watching many season of "The Great British Bakeoff", and enthusiasm; I endeavoured to make a "Wheels on the Bus" cake.
I was happy with how it turned out, and Saoirse was delighted, and recognized it as a bus, so that's a success in my books.
She was spoiled rotten by everyone, and seeing her face when she saw her Elmo softie and then her new Wendy House was truly priceless.
Thank you for indulging this proud dad, I'll see you next week on The Art of Caesura!
