Happy Friday on The Art of Caesura!
Today is the eve of the launch of the 10th edition of Warhammer 40k! I am really REALLY looking forward to this! I have been avidly following much of the coverage from Warhammer Community and, as someone who is just getting back into the gaming side of things, I am really liking the direction that they appear to be going.
I know that many will lament the loss of flavour that streamlining has necessitated, but for myself who, realistically, will probably end up playing a maximum of 6 games in the next year (every other month if I'm lucky) and will thus struggle to retain rules, it is a welcome change.
Anyway, today we're actually looking at a model that I painted up for Kill Team. In the painting process for this guy last week, I mentioned that I was running an Intercession Squad in my first game of Kill Team, and was surprised to find that while I have now painted a bunch of Assault Intercessors, I had not specifically painted a grenadier. So it was time to change that!
For my work-in-progress shots of this guy, check out last week's post...
...And for an in-depth look at my Black Templar painting process, I offer this master post.
I mentioned last week that it was a lovely change of pace to only paint one standard duder on this occasion. Usually I would be painting 5 of these guys at a time, or one heavily detailed character model.
I gave him a yellow Maltese cross decal on his power pack to kind of differentiate him as a specialist.
Man, I love Black Templars! I just think they look so cool. I am really excited to add the new models from Leviathan (especially the Terminators) to my force!
See you next Friday on The Art of Caesura!
