Welcome back to the culmination of the 10th Birthday Celebrations of this blog, The Art of Caesura!!
If you're only just joining us (or if your memory is as bad as mine is), we kicked off the celebrations with an Infographic Reterospective, then we looked at ALL of my favourite miniatures from the past ten years of blogging, and then, just last week, we looked at all of YOUR favourite (and least favourite) posts of all time!
Phew! So what could possibly be left to do for the birthday celebrations? Oh yeah, PARRRRTYYYYY!!!
A few weeks ago, for the actual 10th birthday of The Art of Caesura, my wife very kindly surprised me with a cake and balloons!! She relayed a funny story about her buying the "10" balloon from the shop and the lady asking 'is it for a boy or a girl' after answering "uh...boy", my wife found herself sliding down a rabbit hole as the lady asked what this 'boy' was into: gaming? super heroes? My wife felt the need to come clean, but I think she caused even more confusion by trying explain what it was really for! Hahaha!
The celebrations didn't end there though! I organized a big party at The Guildhall, our local gaming store; it was ostensibly to celebrate the painting competition that I've been running (more on that next week), but I purposefully ensured that the conclusion of the painting competition would coincide with these 10th Birthday celebrations.
It seemed fitting to have a party related to miniature painting, in a hobby store to mark the party of this blog. We even had cake and balloon!
It was a great day! Unfortunately I was too busy MCing to take any good photos, but we had maybe 20 people or so come down specifically for it (and three random bystanders who had ambled in off the street). I even got to make a speech, and I was really thrilled with how everything went!
So, HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS to The Art of Caesura! You have got me through some of the toughest times, and also been there to celebrate the best times with me over the past 10 years. It is increasingly difficulty to squeeze the time in to blog weekly, but through celebrations like this, I am reminded of the importance of prioritizing hobbies and time away from the challenges of adulting.

All that remains - and the manner by which we end every blog birthday post - is to give the blog its gift. I usually save the largest model of the year to use as the blog's gift, but later on this year there will be a larger one, so I'm going to gift the blog the most significant model of the year.
