Heralds wield discarded weapons,  contaminated with horrible worms that churn through them,  which in turn infect their victims.  Each diseased bullet has sentience of its own,  finding even the smallest chink in any armour,  burrowing into the nervous system  and liquefying the internal organs from within. - Trench Crusade Welcome back, one and all, to The Art of Caesura! This week we're looking at the finished pictures of last week's Herald of Beelzebub. A quick note on the photos: I had already taken and edited all of them before I had a chance to complete and attach the sculpted base, so rather than just scrap all of the previous photos that I had taken, I just took more once I'd added the base and chucked those into this post too!  I know that I said the Grail Hounds from a couple of weeks ago were among the fastest models in the game, well this guy right here is the fastest model in the game. He has 10" base movement and the fly keyword, meaning ...

The Heralds are the vanguard  in any assault of the Black Grail,  and the ear-numbing drone of their wings  strikes terror in any defender,  breaking their focus and sapping their willpower. - Trench Crusade Welcome back Caesura fans! It's time for The Art of CAESURAAAAAA!! Ahem, thanks, glad I got that out of my system. It's an exciting time to be in the Caesura-land. I'm really really enthused about Trench Crusade, and some of my friends are really getting into it too! One of my buddies has turned a kilogram of air-dry clay into hundreds (and hundreds) of sandbags! Behind the scenes, I'm actually starting on my SECOND Trench Crusade army and am anxiously awaiting the opportunity to play my first game! Now, on to today's topic! We're working our way through my Cult of the Black Grail warband. We started with the Thralls , we've seen how I'm making my Black Grail bases , we've painted the doggies , and most recently the Corpse Guard . Today, we'r...

If they serve with distinction,  they may one day join the ranks  of the Infernal nobility. - Trench Crusade Howdy Crusaders! Welcome back to The Art of Caesura! Last week , we had a deep dive in to how I painted these guys, this week, let's just revel in their goriness! Whilst gazing in horror at these Corpse Guards, let's discuss their role in the game. "Meta"-folk (those who want to create the most efficient - "best" - lists) will not be including Corpse Guard.  These guys are relatively expensive for what they bring to the table - they cost more than twice as much as the Thralls , and in terms of their stats (especially how I plan to use him) they are basically the same - one extra inch of movement.  The main reason that I am bringing one, is because I just think they look so damn cool, and rule of cool trumps all in my books! So now that I'm dead-set on bringing one, I need to figure out how to make him work for me. And the inspiration came from the...
