"Forged by the god-king Sigmar into living weapons
against the power of Chaos, some of these soldiers of the heavens
are notable even amongst their shining brethren for their heroic deeds -
these champions become known as a Knight-Questor."
Greetings all and sundry and welcome back to The Art of Caesura!
It's been over a month since we last looked at Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower. I'd like to return there today.
So, you may recall the first proper Age of Sigmar dude I painted a few weeks ago: The Liberator. At the time I talked about how I enjoyed painting him in more bronze tones than gold, with a heavy dose of weathering.
This week we're looking at his cousin (and the first Hero from Silver Tower that I've painted): The Knight-Questor.
I tried to paint his armor in the same fashion as the Liberator and used the same blue-green for the shoulder pads and cloak, but tried to use softer highlights on the cloak to emphasize their different materials.
Most prominently I did a little head swap that I think really enhances the model. I have never been a huge fan of the stormcast heads so I stole the head from my old Black Templar upgrade sprue for Warhammer 40K and cut off all the "technology bits." This left me with a pretty cool looking helmet. When you compare the size of the actual Questor head, this Black Templar one is way bigger, but I think the scale works on this mini with his already exaggerated pauldrons.
I grounded him with a bit of weathering and the old "Scar" scar over one eye.
My fiance and I are currently playing through Silver Tower with the Mistweaver and Darkoath Chieftain, but next go-round maybe we'll give this Golden Templar a shot!
Next Week:
The Mighty Rider...
