To crush your enemies
To see them driven before you
and to hear the lamentation of their women.
Robert E. Howard
It's that time again...The Art of Caesura!
Long-time Caesurian's (and even short term) readers might either welcome the variety of miniatures that I paint, or lament my fickleness - flitting from a few weeks of The World of Smog, to Malifaux, to Silver Tower...but, well...tough. I've mentioned before that the big armies I painted were Black Templars and then Orcs and Goblins. After painting hundreds of Night Goblins, I do not miss batch painting, and on the contrary, I love the diversity of just painting whatever I want these days!
So this week I have something completely new again for you! I was totally planning to show off my Maw-Krusha in all his painted glory, but then something arrived in the mail: CONAN!!!
About two years ago I backed a Kickstarter for a concept that absolutely blew my mind. A miniature board game of Conan the Barbarian!! Unfortunately since then its publicity has mostly comprise of lamentations of it being delayed for a year...but now it's here! I just received mine two days ago, and wanted to share a few pics of it with you.
But first, to make sure everyone's on the same page...for those of you who have never read Conan, check out Project Gutenberg's page. I remember reading my dad's old paper-backs when I was a kid, and gazing for hours at posters of Frank Franzetta's art, a la:

So when I heard they were making a miniatures game of Conan I was instantly sold, when I saw some of the initial sculpts, I was only more so!
Thanks for joining me on this trip to the Hyborian Age on The Art of Caesura!
