Hey all! Thanks for joining me for The Art of Caesura!

 I hope you all had a great week! I had the week off and it's been bliss! Not a whole ton of time for painting, but I did get a few little fiery dudes done. I love these little guys model-wise and in the game. In the game it's fun having the Blue Horrors explode into these little guys who look super angry and evil for their stature. Small man complex.

 These guys were actually pretty quick to get going. I looked at a few things for inspiration including a video Kris (from miniwargaming.com) and just rolled with it.

 The fun part of painting the Brimstone Horrors was that painting fire is kind of the opposite of painting other things. Where I would usually start with a dark colour in the crevices for shadow and work my way up to highlights (or start at a mid-tone and shade and highlight) with these guys, their outermost surfaces were the darkest (through liberal use of Gryphonne Sepia mixed through to Nuln Oil) while their inner nooks were the hottest.

Although it is hard to tell from the picture, I did their eyes and depths of their mouths pure white.

I hope you like them and that you guys are enjoying Silver Tower! My fiance and I have completed the first two challenges with much revelry and mirth and wine and beer and all that good stuff!

      Thanks again John, they're fun little buggers for sure! I started with Yriel Yellow, then gave them an all-over wash of 1:2 Gryphonne Sepia and Lahmian Medium (I'd say the closest would be Seraphim Sepia now) then on their outter flames I gave a 1:1 mix (Gryphonne and Lahmian) then straight Gryphonne then diluted Nuln Oil and then pure Nuln Oil as you get further and further out.

      Then I painted the middle bit (around the face) Yriel Yellow again and added more and more White Scar closer and closer to the middle until their eyes and mouths were pure white.
