Hello all and welcome back to The Art of Caesura!
Well, the eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that the miniature that I used as my example in last week's photography post hasn't yet formally appeared on the blog...until now!
I got Nightvault as a birthday present to myself at the end of November, and have really been getting into the game - reading the rules, watching battle reports, reading blogs, building decks and listening to podcasts - but I hadn't bloomin' put paint to plastic! Until I did.
I've actually really enjoyed painting the few Stormcast Eternals that I have done so far: the Knight Questor for Silver Tower, The Free Liberator, and The Free Knight-Incantor. Having already painted the Knight-Incantor, I had my colour-scheme for these three sorted!
Recipe:
Armour: Screaming Bell, Agrax, Hashut Copper
Blue Robes: Stegadon Scale Green, Nuln Oil, Sotek Green, Lothern Blue
Cream Robes: Ushabti Bone, Agrax, Ushabti Bone, White Scar
Crests / Weapon Grips: Screamer Pink, Druchii Violet, Nuln Oil, Screamer Pink mixed with Ushabti Bone.
I did the leaves 4 different colours across the models. I used base colours of: Mephiston Red, Yriel Yellow, Skrag Brown and an orange mixed from Yriel Yellow and Evil Sunz Scarlet. I mixed all the colours with Steel Legion Drab to make them more...drab - so that they wouldn't detract from the models.
And that's my first Warhammer Underworlds warband complete! I'm excited to paint a few more so that I can get some games in, but first I better finish The World of Smog: On Her Majesty's Service - a project 3 years in the making!
Next Week:
A regal look-alike...

The bases were fun, especially Stormsire himself. I liked painting the smashed vials with the essence splashed against the rocks. It was only when I was painting mine that I noticed on the box art they made a goof and painted them like bits of the stone.
I painted the "leaking soul fluid" very simply by stippling some White Scar on the base and then covering it with Soulstone Blue.
