"Timberrrr!" - Oathsworn Trees

The monstrous Deepwood has consumed the land.  No farms or fields remain.  There is only corruption,  rot and the endless shadow of the twisted trees. - Shadowborne Games It's already Friday, so it's already time for your next installment of The Art of Caesura! I'm not going to lie, the past few weeks have been a little stressful with lifey stuff, so let's all take a breather and enjoy what the weekend holds. In stressful times, sometimes I need to remind myself of one of my favourite quotes: " You are the only one who can enjoy your life" Now that we are nice and grounded let us turn our attention to miniatures! Today we're looking at the most omnipresent "character" in Oathsworn, that's right, The Deepwood itself!  From the subtitle of the game ("Into the Deepwood") to the opening lines of the narrative, we can see that the setting is very much at the fore here, so it is only fitting that there are huge-ass creepy trees to go alo...

"New Recruits" - Oathsworn Allies - Part 2

As you traverse the twisting tale of the game  you will meet individuals along the way  who you may wish to requisition  for the cause or who will lend their aid willingly. -  Shadowborne Games   Hello and welcome to another week of The Art of Caesura! As usual, on this Winter Friday, I'm sending out positive vibes to you all across the world from this little corner of Ireland. Take some and pass them on. I almost feel guilty for not having painted any highlights (aside from the dings on the metal) b...

"Shoulder to Shoulder" - Oathsworn Allies - Part 1

There is at least one thing worse than fighting with allies -  and that is to fight without them. - Winston Churchill It's Friday, which means that it's time for The Art of Caesura! I hope you are feeling fulfilled and if not, why not try to set aside half an hour to accomplish a small task that you have been putting off?  Anyway, this isn't about life coaching, it's about painting minis! So let's get to it! Last week we briskly painted a bunch of lovely stone walls for Oathsworn: into the Deepwood. This week we're looking at some of the allies that can help you out if one of your heroes gets eaten / trampled / vomited upon or myriad other unwelcome demises that the Deepwood may hold.  My wife and I have currently played through the first 2 chapters and the story portion of chapter 3. We have yet to lose any of our heroes, but we've gotten pretty close on a few occasions! A helpful mechanic in Oathsworn is that if your hero dies during an encounter they are...
